Ben was just a kid when the world collapsed. After spending years trapped inside the Delaware Safe Zone, a walled survival zone built on lies, he finally decides to escape into the ruins beyond the fence.
What begins as a desperate escape from the Delaware Safe Zone into the dead towns beyond it slowly becomes something more when he finds a stray dog he names Girl. Along the way, Ben finds other survivors still trying to build lives among the ruins. And discovers that even after the end of the world, people still need each other.
